Rubies are found in a variety of locations around the globe. We would like to mention here especially
Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Africa.

Vietnam: In 1992, a new ruby mine was discovered in Vietnam that produces some rubies, which are of a similar standard as rubies from Burma.

Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka rubies can be very beautiful. Sri Lankan stones often have a pinkish hue and many are pastel in tone. Some, however, resemble the vivid red hues from Burma.

Africa: Rubies from Kenya and Tanzania surprised the world when they were discovered in the sixties. Their colour rivals the world's best. Unfortunately, most of these rubies have large numbers of inclusions, which diminish their brilliance. African rubies are rarely transparent enough to facet
