Berr & Partners SA was founded 1986 in Geneva, Switzerland by two gemmologists, Elke Fechner, whose father was already in the trade, and Thomas Berr who also holds a MBA in marketing and communication.

Based in Geneva, the worlds' capital for fine diamonds and precious stones, we focussed from the beginning on the international jewellery market offering high quality gemstones, especially rubies and sapphires. We are proud to have some of the most famous jewellers in Paris, London, Milan and New York among our clients.


In 1995 we opened a branch-office in Paris, only footsteps away from the prestigious Place Vendôme to even better serve our clients based in the EU. We are members of ASNP (Association Suisse des Négociants en Pierres Précieuses) and Madame Elke Fechner Berr has been nominated ambassador for ICA (International Colored Gemstone Association) the largest non-profit organization in its field.
At international trade shows like Basel and Hongkong and at European fairs we had booths to present our precious stones and our jewellery.

We personally select our gems directly in the producing countries (Sri Lanka and Thailand) and we had secured the rare privilege to have access to the world-famous mines in Mogok (Myanmar) formerly Burma, source of gems of the highest quality found in the market today. Twice a year we are invited to the auctions by the local government and throughout the year our Burmese partner locates the finest natural (unheated) gems for us.

Elke Fechner Berr together with a renowned jewellery designer also produces our very own line suitable for everyday use and appealing to the modern woman of the 21. Century. This collection we sell also via Internet.
